Trail between El Chileno and Las Torres base viewpoint
Difficulty: Medium - 20 km (8 hours) Initial altitude: 90 meters above sea level Maximum altitude: 870 meters above sea level The hike to Mirador Base Las Torres (or simply Mirador Torres) is one of the most iconic in Chilean Patagonia and probably the most popular within the Torres del Paine National Park. It allows you to have incredible views of Lake Torre and the three granite peaks that surround it, the famous Torres del Paine or "blue towers". You can start the trail from the Torres del Paine Welcome Center or from the Torres del Paine campground. The effort to get to the viewpoint is totally worth it. Some people do this hike as the first part of other loops in the area (such as the "W" loop).
