Check-in at the Hotel and Adventure Preparation
Upon arrival in Puerto Natales, the gateway to Chilean Patagonia, you will check in at Hotel Martin Gusinde or a similar property. This welcoming hotel will be the perfect place to rest, settle in comfortably, and begin connecting with the unique atmosphere of the far south. During this first evening, you will have time to recharge, enjoy the quiet charm of the town, and get ready to begin your winter experience in the breathtaking Torres del Paine National Park the following day.
Miradores Route in Torres del Paine
From Puerto Natales, we will depart towards Villa Cerro Castillo on a journey of approximately 45 minutes, surrounded by Magellanic forests, valleys, and majestic mountains. Our first stop will be the Sarmiento Lake viewpoint, where you can admire the impressive Paine Mountain Range. Then, we will visit Laguna Amarga viewpoint, home to flamingos, before entering Torres del Paine National Park. Throughout the excursion, we will enjoy spectacular views from several viewpoints, including: Nordenskjöld Lake, Salto Grande, Pehoé Lake, Weber Bridge, and Grey Lake. On the way back, we will explore the Cueva del Milodón Natural Monument, an archaeological site of great importance. Base Torres Trekking Challenge
After an energizing breakfast at Hostal Factoría, an epic journey to the Base of the Torres del Paine begins. We will start early, heading to Torres del Paine National Park and making our way to the Cerro Paine Reserve, the starting point of the trail. Before beginning the hike, the guide will provide key instructions and check the equipment, including trekking poles and, if necessary, winter gear such as crampons and gaiters. The route includes: An initial one-hour ascent with views over the Ascencio Valley A traverse through a lenga forest alongside the Ascencio River, surrounded by the imposing Almirante Nieto Mountain A stop at Refugio Chileno to rest and recharge before the final challenge Final stretch: a steep and rocky trail leading to the Base Torres viewpoint, where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the iconic towers — Central, Monzino, and Dagostini — along with Peineta and Nido de Cóndores peaks After taking in this extraordinary natural spectacle, we will begin the descent along the same trail, returning to Puerto Natales at the end of the day with the satisfaction of having explored one of Patagonia’s most iconic destinations.
