Schedule

7:30 am - Travel from your accommodation in Puerto Natales to the Park

Hotel pick-up and transfer to Torres del Paine National Park. We will depart from your accommodation in Puerto Natales heading north to Villa Cerro Castillo, the capital of the Torres del Paine commune, located 59 km away. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes—an ideal time to enjoy and interpret the diverse landscapes along the way, including Magellanic forests, glacial valleys, mountain ranges, and lakes lining the route. Weather permitting, you may also spot Andean condors soaring above one of the many nesting areas found throughout the region.

The itinerary continues to the Sarmiento Lake viewpoint, our first scenic stop with views of the Paine Mountain Range. From here, weather permitting, you’ll enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the entire Torres del Paine massif, the southern extension of the Andes, and the impressive Sarmiento Lake.

After this stop, we will head toward one of the most remarkable viewpoints, offering one of the most striking views of the granite towers. This location is the Laguna Amarga viewpoint, a preferred habitat for flamingos, which are often seen here taking advantage of the ideal feeding conditions. The journey then continues to the main entrance of Torres del Paine National Park, where we will register our entrance tickets before proceeding with the itinerary.

Lago Grey

At this point, you will have time to enjoy lunch at Hotel Lago Grey (included) and to take a walk around the surroundings, weather permitting. We then return to the vehicle to continue the journey, exiting Torres del Paine National Park through the southern sector. Our final stop with views of Torres del Paine will be at one of the most impressive viewpoints along Route Y-290, known as the Grey Viewpoint. From here, you will be able to admire the mountain range that dominates the western side of the province, the vast Toro Lake, and—if weather conditions allow—even a հատված of the Grey Glacier. After approximately one hour of travel, we will reach the highlight of the day: a visit to the Milodon Cave Natural Monument. This protected area is the second most visited site in the Magallanes Region after Torres del Paine National Park. Your guide will share detailed insights about its great historical significance, shaped by ongoing archaeological and paleontological research conducted in the area.

Travel from your accommodation in Puerto Natales to the Park

Departure from Puerto Natales with a direct transfer to the Las Torres sector, arriving at Reserva Cerro Paine—the starting point of the trail—where you will receive a briefing from your guide. We then begin the hike, heading toward the Ascencio Valley. After about 10 minutes, we will cross an old suspension bridge over the Ascencio River.

From this point, the trail becomes steeper. It initially follows a small stream under the shade of low trees along the edge of the moraine. Higher up, the trail becomes less defined, and the ascent continues over rocky terrain, with some markers indicating the route. After approximately 30 minutes from the 700-meter elevation sign, you will reach the eastern edge of the lagoon, where you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the three towers (Central, Monzino, and D’Agostini), as well as the Peineta and Nido de Cóndores peaks.

After taking time to rest and enjoy lunch in this extraordinary and unique scenic setting, we begin our return along the same trail back to the starting point, where our driver will be waiting to take us back to Puerto Natales at the end of the day.
