The southernmost continental city in the world …

Punta Arenas is the starting and ending city for any trip to Chilean Patagonia. It has its own airport (Presidente Carlos Ibáñez del Campo International Airport) located in the Chabunco sector, 20 km north of the city.

LATAM, SKY and Jetsmart airlines connect the city with  Santiago  through a three and a half hours flight.

Cruises that travel to the end of the world also depart from the city and from where hundreds of tourists arrive each year to visit the famous Torres del Paine National Park.

One of the essential activities is to visit the handicraft market located on Calle 21 de Mayo, where the local market is also located, for seafood lovers. The Punta Arenas Free Tax Zone is one of the most important shopping centers in Patagonia, with more than 100 stores.

Punta Arenas has a wide network of hotels, hostels and cabins, as well as a gaming casino. Also hospitals and exchange houses.

From  Punta Arenas Airport, you must continue the trip by bus or rented vehicle to the city of Puerto Natales (247 km) and from that point, to Torres de Paine Park.
