This shelter is few minutes away from the glacier Grey, which emerges from the Southern Ice Fields. It is on one end of the W trekking circuit, the best known and busiest of Torres del Paine National Park, and you can access it by walking from the Shelter Vértice Paine Grande, in catamaran from the Hosteria Lago Grey or from Paso Gardner. From here, hikers can take the route to the campsite Vértice Los Perros, crossing the spectacular Paso John Gardner, part of the circuit O.

Shelter

It has capacity for 60 people, with 30 beds on the first floor and 30 single beds in the ground floor distributed in dormitory rooms for 4 or 6 people. Shared bathrooms with wash basins, toilets and hot showers are located on the ground floor. It counts with independent bathrooms from men and women.

Restaurant

The shelter has a restaurant that offers american breakfast, lunch, dinner, soft drinks, beers and wines. Those who plan a day-walk can order a lunch boxes the day before. In addition, you can enjoy a coffee together with excellent sandwiches.

Bar

The bar has a beautiful view of the mountain range that frames the Grey Lake. Hikers meet here at the end of the day to enjoy a pisco sour or a varied selection of wines.

Lounge

It has slow combustion heating and comfortable armchairs to relax and enjoy the view of the landscape.

Shop

Here you can buy souvenirs, clothes, food and drinks.

This is a public area to seek shelter from the weather.

Rentals

The campsite Vértice Paine Grande has tents, sleeping bags and mats for rent, which must be reserved in advance.

General Conditions

Made Bed

Accommodation service in bunk beds, in mixed shared rooms, which includes a mattress cover, pillow, sheets and blanket.

Full Board

It consists of dinner service on the day of arrival, breakfast and lunch or box lunch the next day. It is delivered to the shelter and cannot be divided between sectors or different contracted shelters. In this way, if the reservation includes Food Services in different shelters, these will be charged as separate services, despite not being consumed in their entirety.

Option for vegetarian or similar diets is offered, with indication in the reservation. Regarding food allergies or intolerance restrictions, it is also important that you inform us in advance to see feasibility. 30 days advance notice is requested.

Commercial Conditions

  • Rates in Chilean pesos consider the respective VAT
  • The rates in US dollars were set using a reference exchange rate, for which Vertice S.A. reserves the right to update or modify the exchange rate, prior to payment of the reservation, respectively informing the increase. Rates in dollars are only valid for foreign passengers or guides not resident in Chile, who must present the respective passport and identification card. entry into the country at the time of presentation.
  • Accommodation in a single or armed bunk bed, in shared and mixed rooms, in the Dickson, Gray and Paine Grande shelters
  • The exclusive rates for Chileans and residents are exclusively for those who have a valid Chilean identity card (RUN), if they do not have this they must pay at check-in for the corresponding difference.
  • Vouchers are nominative and non-transferable. Amended, adulterated or photocopied vouchers will not be accepted.

Cancellations

  • Cancellations, right of withdrawal, modifications of services or dates, in order for them to be effective, can be executed and the amounts paid to be refunded if applicable (REVIEW GENERAL CONDITIONS), must be made within 48 calendar days of the check in date.
  • If these are made outside the indicated period, 100% of the original reservation will be charged and no refund will be made.
  • If the reservation and payment were made less than 45 days in advance of the check-in date, the corresponding notice of modification, cancellation or withdrawal, so that it takes effect and the respective money refund can be made if applicable (REVIEW GENERAL CONDITIONS) , must be made within 2 days following the day the payment was made. After this period, no type of modification or cancellation with a refund can be made.

No show or no presentation

If a passenger does not show up on the day of their reservation at the shelter or campsite, Vertice S.A. will reserve the right to use the reserved spaces to remarket them, without refund of money. If the guest has a reservation for more than one night, failure to show up on the first day of their reservation will automatically cancel their entire stay with the exception of those who inform through their agency or operator via email that they will arrive the next day (the guest will lose likewise the first night).

Important

  • Vertice S.A. and Great Chile are not responsible for modifications, cancellations or No Shows due to impossibility of arrivals or access to the shelters or camping due to causes external to them, such as weather problems, road closures, natural phenomena, problems with air connections, delays in transfers or non-departure of boats or catamarans, social or political demonstrations or other problems derived from these, or any other factor beyond the will and control of Vertice S.A. and Great Chile. For such eventualities, it is suggested that passengers take out travel insurance.
  • Vertice S.A. and Great Chile is not responsible for additional costs due to modifications or cancellations of reservations, nor expenses generated by losses or delays in air, land, lake or maritime transportation services for the passenger.
  • Likewise, Vertice S.A. and Great Chile is not responsible for loss of documents or personal property of the passenger during their trip or during their stay in our shelters and campsites. It is the responsibility of each person to undergo a preventive medical checkup, prior to an activity, excursion, trekking, etc., to ensure that their health is in good condition and is compatible with the activity to be carried out.
