Itinerary

Option 1: Entrance through Las Torres

Departures on Tuesdays between May 7 and August 31, 2019

Day 1 We will meet at the offices in Puerto Natales, at 3:00 p.m. to receive an induction talk. Then we will travel, in private transport, for two hours and a half to the Torres del Paine National Park, where we will have dinner and sleep in the Central Sector campsite.

Day 2 Trekking Mirador Las Torres

We will leave early towards one of the most emblematic places of the Park, the Torres Base viewpoint.

During the first part we will walk through the pampas, crossing the Ascencio River and then climb about 3 kms. until we reach the Paso de los Vientos, which will give us incredible views of the valley, lakes and glaciers. We will continue until we reach the Chilean Refuge and then we will enter a lenga forest and reach the moraine, where the hardest part of the trek begins. We will walk along a rock path until we reach the spectacular Torres Base viewpoint. After contemplating the overwhelming image, we will begin to descend towards the Central Sector to have dinner and sleep

Day 3 French Sector Trekking

We will walk around 13.5 km. bordering the Nordenskjöld lake, the Almirante Nieto mountain and the impressive Cuernos del Paine. During the trip we will have beautiful views of the Cuernos, hanging glaciers, lakes and abundant vegetation where you can appreciate the varied flora and fauna of the area.

Day 4 Trekking Valle del Frances

Our day begins with one of the most important icons of the circuit, the French valley. Very early we will start with a gentle walk until we reach the Italian camp. From there we will start the ascent (about 2 kms.) Between forests through the valley of the French river. We will continue until we reach the French viewpoint, from where we can have one of the most breathtaking images of the circuit; the view towards the valley flanked by the Paine Grande hills, Cathedral, Leaf, Mask, Sword, Shark Fin and Northern Horn. To be without words. After that show, we will begin our descent towards the Paine Grande Refuge.

Day 5: Trekking to Grey Glacier sector – Grey Glacier sailing and return to Puerto Natales

This day we will reach the third milestone of the circuit, a place that offers an unforgettable postcard of the park, the wonderful Grey glacier.

The road begins along the Paine Grande hill, the highest point of the Massif (3050 m), with incredible views towards its hanging glaciers. Walking between Ñirres, Coigües and Notros, we will reach the first viewpoint of Lake Grey where we will see numerous pieces of glacier floating in it. We will continue walking with the imposing view of the Grey Glacier, until arriving at the Grey Refuge. Then, at 11:30 hrs. we will wait for the catamaran that will take us to the feet of the glacier and we will enjoy this great mass of ice, with more than 6 kilometers wide and 30 meters high separated on two fronts, and which is part of the Southern Ice Fields. After this magnificent spectacle, we will continue our navigation to the Lago Grey Hotel sector to return to Puerto Natales, where we will be close to 17:00 Hrs.

Option 2 Entrance by Lago Grey

Departures on Saturdays between May 4 and August 31, 2019

Day 1: Puerto Natales – Grey glacier sector – Hanging Bridges

The day before we will meet at the offices in Puerto Natales to receive an induction talk. The next day we will pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Natales between 06:00 and 06:30 in the morning to start our trip by private transport to Embarcadero Grey. There we will check in at 10:00 hrs to board the Catamaran that will take us across the lake to the Refugio Grey. During the navigation we will enjoy incredible images of Cerro Paine Grande and the Grey Glacier, with their blue and sky blue opening way through the mountains. We will have lunch and we will start walking in the direction of Camping El Paso, from where we will skirt part of the Grey Glacier until we reach the Hanging Bridges: two catwalks of 51 and 56 meters. long, respectively, located on gorges, and that are part of the Paine Circuit, better known as Circuit ¨O¨. Then we will return to sleep in the Grey Refuge.

Day 2: Trekking Paine Grande – French Sector

We will start our walk very early, leaving behind the imposing Grey Glacier and we will continue skirting its lake between spectacular viewpoints and forests of Ñirres, Coigües and Notros. After walking about 11 km we will arrive to lunch at the Paine Grande Sector, from where we can enjoy one of the most impressive views of the Cuernos del Paine. After lunch we will continue on our way to the French Sector, bordering Pehoé, Skottsberg and Nordenskjöld Lakes on the right, and on the left, Cerro Paine Grande, the highest point of the Massif (3050 masl). Arriving at the French sector we will have dinner and sleep at the campsite.

Day 3: French valley trekking

This day we will visit another of the most important icons of the circuit, the French valley. Very early we will start with a gentle walk until we reach the Italian camp. From there we will start the ascent, about two kilometers, through forests through the valley of the French river, until we reach the French viewpoint, from where we can have one of the most breathtaking images of the circuit; the view towards the valley flanked by the Paine Grande hills, Cathedral, Leaf, Mask, Sword, Shark Fin and Northern Horn.

According to the climatic conditions, the guide will evaluate to continue raising towards the British Sector.

Day 4: Trekking to Central Sector

We will walk around 13.5 km. bordering Lake Nordenskjöld, the amazing Cuernos del Paine and Cerro Almirante Nieto. During the trip we will have magnificent views of the Cuernos, hanging glaciers, lakes and abundant vegetation, where we can appreciate the varied flora and fauna of the area. A journey that will connect you with the landscape and the unique nature of Chilean Patagonia.

Day 5: Trekking Mirador Base Torres We will leave early towards the most emblematic place of the Park, the Torres Base viewpoint. During the first part we will walk through the pampa crossing the Ascencio River and then climb about 3km until we reach the pass of the winds. Here we will enjoy incredible views towards the valley, lakes and glaciers. We will continue until we reach the Chilean Refuge and then we will enter a lenga forest and arrive at La Morrena, where the hardest part of the trekking begins. We will walk along a rock path until we reach the spectacular Torres Base viewpoint. After contemplating the overwhelming image, we will return to the Central Sector and take the van that will take us back to Puerto Natales

Other Information

For maintenance of our facilities in winter, we will not have hygienic services (showers and bathrooms). We recommend applying the rules of Do not leave a trace and continue to protect this place. How to go to the bathroom in the mountain? Here a summary.
  • Stay at least 70 steps away from the water courses. • With the shovel, make a hole of medium size from 10 to 20 cm. of depth and 20 to 30 cms. diameter. • Lower your trousers to your knees and stand in a squatting position.
  • Cover the hole with the same dirt that you took out and camú fl alo with the existing floor to avoid visual impact. • Store the used toilet paper in a plastic bag (ideal with a zipper seal) and take it back to the city. • Remember to wash your hands with soap gel.
